The cloud. We are not talking weather. Many, many applications are moving to the cloud whether you know it or not. Google docs and Gmail are good examples but so is Microsoft Office 365. My business partners and I just launched a cloud based product for lawyers called NotifyWorks. It helps lawyers build customer relationships and build billable hours. The accounting system I use is from Quicken and is cloud based. I can’t tell you the last time I talked to a software entrepreneur that was not building something in the cloud.
This has become so mainstream that USA Today recently published an article titled: You’d better move toward the ‘cloud,’ entrepreneurs. What was interesting was the author stating:
“One day, I’m sure I’ll look back at this column as quaint, just as I smile as I look back on my 1997 column telling people to get email. When it comes to the cloud, we’re certain to say, “How did I ever live without it?”
You are probably not living without it either. Are you?
